Writing Your Way Out of the Darkness Workshop Today 12th February 2015 – Tags: Nayna Kumari, Tracey West, Writing Your Way Out of the Darkness
There’s a fantastic line up of talks today at The Malthouse in Lyme Regis, including ‘Writing Your Way Out of the Darkness‘ presented by Magic Oxygen Publisher Tracey West and psychotherapist Nayna Kumari.
Writing your way out of the darkness can be a very healing thing to do after an unsettling life event like divorce, bereavement or abuse.
In this calm and positive workshop Nayna Kumari and Tracey West will introduce you to ‘The Stress Cycle’, help you understand how the nervous system works and explore why and how creative writing can help you physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically.
Practical points will include how to find a safe space to write, looking at blocks which stop you writing, top tips on different types of creative writing including poetry, 6-word stories, and simple exercises to help you write it all out.
Workshop is £3 (including tea/coffee and biscuits!)
Nayna is a psychotherapist who writes and performs poetry. She wishes she had been taught how to recognize and handle the complexities of human behaviour while she was still at school and is writing a book to address this oversight.
