As we interact with individuals and companies, we sometimes find people who share many of our values. As a way of supporting them we are proud to list a few below. Please nip over to their web sites and have a look at the remarkable range of ways they are working to help make our world a bit better.
Have you got a website? Is wearing your green heart on your sleeve important to you and do you like to work alongside environmentally conscious partners? Then this is the place you should be hosting your website, or planning the design of your next one!
Our dear friend Ru Hartwell is working incredibly hard to get travellers to take more personal responsibility for their journeys. As a result he’s cleaning up the atmosphere and growing food for people to eat; top man.
Rupert Farthing and his dedicated team run this inspirational environmental education and conservation centre, located adjacent to a working landfill site in Somerset. It provides a very unique set of opportunities for life-changing educational experiences and is well worthy of a visit.
Footprint Friends was launched to raise awareness about environmental issues amongst 10-18 year olds and to promote climate change communication. Through their site and the Wipe Out Waste Awards, an initiative designed by their amazing founder, Karen Ford, they encourage members to ask questions, change attitudes and have a voice about the future facing them as adults.
Tracey is the food columnist for this most excellent publication and the Editor Melissa Corkhill really does talk the talk and walk the walk! It’s not just a magazine for parents of young un’s either. Grab an issue next time you’re in the newsagents and have a flick through..you might just find yourself hooked!
Sue Jueno and her brilliant team have put together an outstanding eco-resource. If you need information about who’s doing the green thing in a particular field, this is the only place you need to visit to find them. You’ll find excellent reviews and you have to fit a criteria to be listed too, so it cuts the green-washers right out. Be sure to get your eco-company listed there too, free of charge!
King Lion Media is a specialist in ethical publishing. They have a 100% recycled paper policy (all supplied by sustainable paper establishment Steinbeis) which means no dead trees. As newsstand sales are at an all time low we focus our distribution with dedicated circulation minimising wastage and have a stable of 25 of the UK’s finest ethical writers; Tracey Smith’s piece on responsible luxury travelling comes out in their Green Magazine with The Guardian in January.
An incredible company, a brilliant set of products and a smashing team behind the concept. The Onya bags particularly, are ‘the’ only accessory to have seen on your shopping arms. Made from various recycled materials (including parachutes and plastic bottles) they are a complete statement about how you feel about the environment and dead practical too.
